Meet the Cast

Not all cast members appear in every show or speaking engagement.  However, one of the many key advantages to working with Keith and Company is Keith's ability to create entertaining and compelling routines to fit any educational / motivational topic, and the first step is choosing the right character for the situation!

Keith and Grampa

Grampa:

Grampa is the star of the Keith and Company corporate & association keynote presentations, although like most of the cast, he has made frequent appearances for general audiences & family events.

Born 117 years ago in the Appalachian Mountains, Grampa brings to the stage his lovable, shoot-from-the-hip, tell-it-like-it-is, home-grown mountain wit and wisdom and is therefore most often the cast member to deliver the content portion of our keynotes. Grampa is Keith's Grandfather on his mother's side (kinda).

Grampa has been with the cast (in one form or another) since 1989.

Jeremy:

Jeremy is the unquestionable star of all Keith and Company kid shows and family events. A seemingly simple and innocent teen-aged dinosaur, he never fails to delight the hearts and minds of children aged 4 to 104, especially when that little streak of mischief comes out to befuddle Keith.

Jeremy was a stunt double in all three Jurassic Park movies and has appeared in a few Japanese monster movies. (unconfirmed)

Jeremy has been with the cast since 1993.

Farm Animals

Old Mac's Farm Animals:

Perhaps the most popular characters in any Keith and Company show are the pre-selected audience members that become human puppets for whom Keith talks. Old MacDonald's Farm Animals have appeared in our corporate presentations and in many general audience shows since 1995.

Talking Kids:

There's nothing unusual about talking children. It's getting them to stop talking that's the trick. But kids that join Keith on the stage start to say things that surprise even them! Imagine a little girl with a deep voice who's a construction worker, or a strapping young man who makes Barbie dolls for a living.

This simple routine never fails to make a huge impact, and Keith always makes sure to remind the audience that he was the one doing the talking and that the volunteers were very good sports.

RoadKill

RoadKill:

Poor RoadKill. He's so downtrodden and so homely, ya just gotta love him. He appears in many corporate performances and has been on the road with Keith and Company since 1994. This odd little character, who breaks many of the "rules" for creating vent characters has brought more positive attention and opportunities to Keith and Company than any other character in the cast except for maybe Keith himself. Perhaps it is because he is so unique.

Myrtle Mae:

Myrtle Mae is Keith's mom, so you can imagine the embarrassing things she might say to him in front of everybody.   Myrtle Mae has never become a regular character in a Keith and Company show, but she has filled many custom show roles throughout the years.   Her stunning debut to the limelight came in 1997 when she played Keith's mother-in-law for the Chevrolet Venture introduction show in Detroit, Chicago and New York.

Why is she not a regular character yet?   We just have too much proven material in our shows to squeeze her in.   Someday, Mom.   Someday.

Murray

Mury (pronounced Murray):

Mury (in one form or another) was Keith's very first character.   A cheeky boy in a bird's body, Mury first met Keith at a magic convention in St. Louis back in 1987. Keith's success with Mury quickly lead to Keith putting most of his magic away to concentrate on excelling in ventriloquism.   Mury has worked general audience shows, corporate performances, trade shows and many other unique venues.   The most mobile of the cast, Mury lends himself well to many unique situations.

After Jeremy joined the family show cast, Mury was demoted to co-star which understandably ruffled a few feathers.   They get along much better now, though.

Lou:

A lugubrious basset hound, Lou brings a new level of adorable gloom to corporate and general audiences.  He makes his living as a motivational speaker.

Mabel

Mabel:

Mabel, a "not-that-old" friend of the family, has made marrying well an art form.  She is always looking for her next husband "fixer upper" opportunity.  She loves to travel and is a hit on cruise ships.

Teddy:

This little cuddly cutie is the latest addition to the Keith and Company cast.  He has been testing very well in front of audiences.  No surprises here.  He's just cute and adorable and just a little stubborn.
